Galacto-Oligosaccharides (abbreviated as GOS) are functional oligosaccharides refined from lactose via catalytic hydrolysis and transglycosylation reactions catalyzed by β-galactosidase. They are mainly composed of saccharides with polymerization degrees including lactosyl galactose, digalactose and trigalactose.
Food additive CNS No. 20.014, INS No. 957, CAS No. 6587-31-1. It complies with the national standard GB 1903.14-2016 National Food Safety Standard – Food Additive Galacto-Oligosaccharides. Classified as sweetener, dietary fiber fortifier and prebiotic under GB 2760, GOS is the only classic and safe prebiotic widely permitted for use in infant formula foods, featuring excellent human body compatibility and intestinal affinity.

Solubility: Freely soluble in water with clear and transparent aqueous solution. pH value of 10% aqueous solution ranges from 4.0 to 7.0. It boasts outstanding dispersibility and fluidity, and is highly compatible with milk-based, water-based and powder food matrices
